Aberdeen Market is currently seeking a Chief financial officer. This role will be responsible for the financial health and strategic planning of Aberdeen Market and will report to and partner with the President to develop and implement financial strategies that support and drive the growth of the business.

Salary: $62 per hour, 30 hours

Position Duties:

Develop and direct financial plans to the strategic business plan, company growth, and market opportunities and direction.
Control and evaluate the organization’s fundraising plans and capital structure; establishes and manages the short- and long-term capital planning.
Develop and maintain the organization’s financial forecasts, short term and longer term, and ensure that financial projections are kept up-to-date.
Set up and/or oversee all financial and operational controls and metrics within the organization.
Maintain executive responsibility for financial operations, including working capital, capital expenditures, debt levels, taxes, budget, and all aspects of general accounting.
Analyze current and future business operations and plans to determine financial effectiveness.
Identify and address financial risks and opportunities for the company.
Develop appropriate tools to assess the organization’s financial risks, including the financial risk profile of its membership.
Manage the organization’s risk exposure by assessing financial risks and recommending appropriate mitigation.
Creates, develops, and implements an effective financial strategy while working with the President and other leadership to capture objectives for future growth and expansion.
Decide on investment strategies by considering cash and liquidity risks.
Develop and manage key relationships with stakeholders to provide financial support and understanding of short term and long-term financial goals.
Oversee, review, and analyze the company’s fiscal activity, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing.
Authorize and organize the establishment of major departments and associated senior staff positions.
Represent the organization, or delegate representatives to act on behalf of the organization, in negotiations or other official functions.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and reporting requirements.
Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team capable of managing all national accounting processes effectively while fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Position Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field
At least five years work experience in a financial management position.
Strong interpersonal skills, communication, leadership ability, teamwork, and positive attitude.
Capability for budget development and forecasting.
Experience with mergers & acquisitions and the integration of companies.
Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and people skills.
Ability to strategize and solve problems.
