AGAT is hiring for an Accounts Payable Supervisor to join our Finance team working out of our Calgary corporate office. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, and working closely with the Accounting Supervisor, the Accounts Payable Supervisor is responsible for the day to day operations of the Accounts Payable group. The position is given direction from the Accounting Manager and Accounting Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversees the flow of day-to-day operation of Accounts Payable department and verifies the accuracy of the AP teams work
Liaises with the Accounting Manager and Accounting Supervisor on various AP issues
Supervision of all AP team members and first point of contact for questions and inquiries from AP staff members
Training and onboarding of all new AP team members
Assists with client inquiries, and maintains good customer and staff relationships
Resolves AP work related problems and issues and keeps management informed
Work with AP team to resolve invoicing discrepancies and errors
Prepares, or reviews and approves month end AP reports
Receive and verify invoices and requisitions for goods and services
Ensure bills are paid in a timely manner
Prepare batches of invoices for data entry, including coding of invoices
Review and verify cheque runs and EFT payments for suppliers and employees as necessary

Skills and Experience:

Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance an asset
Minimum of 1-3 years in a previous Accounting related role
Strong Knowledge of and experience with Accounts Payable function
Previous Supervisory experience in an Accounting related role (particularly AP) is strongly preferred
Experience with ACCPACC products an asset
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English is required, French is an asset
Knowledge of Basic Accounting such as Journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, etc.
Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel
Strong attention to detail and data accuracy are essential
Organized and thorough
Ability to handle multiple tasks within a fast-paced work environment
Mature work ethic and ability to work independently and in a team environment
