Job Summary

The Director, Technical Accounting will be a key member of the corporate financial team, under the direction of the Corporate Controller, will be responsible for managing and supporting a variety of functions within the accounting and finance department. While abiding by Company policies, International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRS”), Canadian Securities Laws and the Cannabis Act and its Regulations; the Director, Technical Accounting will be responsible for building and managing all Accounting, Consolidation and Internal Control policies and procedures for the Global organization with operating units in Canada and Israel. The role will also support, as required, a significant M&A pipeline and business integration activities.

Roles and Responsibilities

Lead the preparation and filing of all financial statements including: Statement of Financial Position, Statement of Loss / Income and Comprehensive Loss / Income, Statement of Changes in Shareholders Equity, and Statement of Cash Flows along with all required Notes and Disclosures as well as MD&A.
Ensure compliance with all CSE and Securities Commissions filing and disclosure requirements
Develop, implement and evaluate corporate financial systems, assist in creating financial strategies that are aligned to overall enterprise direction;
Responsible for managing of internal and external audit programs, compliance, operational audits;
Coordinate, analyze and report the financial performance, projections and other special projects to Senior Management and Board of Directors as required;
Work with Executives and the Accounting and Finance Team to support preparation of short and long-term financial forecasts
Assist in the evaluation and integration of mergers and acquisitions where applicable;
Lead the development and monitoring of ICFR for effective risk management, ensuring the implementation and process roll-out achieves its objectives while the results are high quality and valued by the business;
Lead the development, documentation and testing surrounding Internal Controls to allow the Company’s officers to fulfill their reporting obligations;
Manage the preparation of information for all requirements defined by BCSC, OSC and the CSE for the proper disclosure of financial results of Atlas Global Brands Inc.
Recommending changes in a dynamic environment with effectively communication and acting as a change agent to promote, encourage and implement changes;
Providing guidance and recommendations on technical accounting issues and internal controls to Management on corporate, process re-design and IT modernization initiatives as well as ongoing operations to facilitate a strong internal control environment, optimize controls and adopt best practices;
Utilizing ERP system, deliver accurate financial reporting in an efficient and timely manner;
Ensures compliance with federal, provincial and local legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation, consulting with outside advisors, and filing financial reports. Advises senior management of actions and potential risks;

Qualifications:

Post Secondary in Business Administration or other related area;
CPA designation with public company reporting experience; MBA and asset
6-10 years experience in a financial role, preference to individuals with public company, growth stage company and/or merger and acquisitions experience.
Experience with consolidations and mergers and acquisition.
Strong IT knowledge and skills, including superior use of Microsoft Office applications.
Advanced communication skills mean you can relate to people at all levels and provide guidance and instruction to anyone within the organization with an uncanny ability to adapt your messaging and style to suit your audience, allowing you to convey complex issues clearly, and tactfully
