Capstone currently develops, owns and operates thermal and renewable power generation facilities approximately 776 MW of gross installed capacity across 30 facilities in Canada.

Capstone Infrastructure Corporation is seeking an Manager, Tax in its Toronto office for a 1 year Contract.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Preparation of Canadian direct (income) tax filings and returns, including maintenance of supporting documents, assessments, and statements for the returns.
Preparation of the quarterly and annual income tax provisions.
Preparation of audit documentation and support for direct & indirect tax audits to defend Capstone’s filing positions.
Research and documentation of technical issues that arise.
Keep up to date on tax legislation changes and evaluate the impact to Capstone.
Compliance with CEO/CFO internal control certification.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 5 years practical working experience in taxation in a public accounting firm or the private sector required.
CPA or equivalent designation (MTax)
5+ years’ experience in the preparation of various Canadian tax returns.
Experience in preparing income tax provisions under IFRS.
Professional accounting designation is required.
Experience working with Longview and TaxPrep software is an asset.
Strong MS Excel skills, including data analysis, manipulation and problem solving.
Tax technical writing know-how.
Experience with Canadian income tax compliance, and IFRS provision preparation for legal structures that include partnerships and corporations.
Willing to take ownership for tasks and see them through to completion.
Ability to gain support of Finance team colleagues to support tax initiatives
Consistently provide high-quality deliverables to superiors.
Accept responsibility by holding the line on quality and meeting deadlines, take initiative and appropriately elevate issues to superiors
