POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director, Finance is responsible for executing forecasting, budgeting, financial analysis and ensuring all accounting and financial reporting activities are completed on an accurate and timely basis and leading systems and process related transformation for Aquatic Informatics. The position is further responsible for providing financial leadership, guidance and assistance to all functional leaders and locations. This includes conducting financial and business analyses to identify potential problems and recommended solutions, preparing/supporting the development of annual strategic plans and financial budgets, as well as driving working capital and productivity improvements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Analysis/Management Support

+ Work closely with functional and business unit leaders in conducting detailed financial and business analyses to identify potential problems, determine root causes and recommend appropriate solutions.

+ Develop and maintain forecasting processes that accurately predict future performance and motivate actions to insure it hits agreed upon target.

+ Develop and maintain functional and business unit reporting processes that accurately describe performance of key business and financial parameters.

+ Lead financial portion of the strategic planning process, ensure that results from initiative are properly scoped, presented, tracked, and reported.

+ Generate the annual financial budget.

+ Submission of accurate financial statements that are compliance with US GAAP and DHR accounting practices.

+ Drive the use of DBS and continuous improvement within the NAM Finance Organization

Internal Control Systems

+ Collaborates with the Accounting team to develop and maintain appropriate internal controls.

People Development/Process Improvement

+ Develop financial personnel to grow professionally, ensuring sufficient opportunities are created to enable career development within Hach and across Danaher

+ Contributes to improving transactional and closing processes from a time, accuracy, and productivity perspective.

+ Implement and optimize existing reporting and technology solutions, for management dashboards, accurate external reporting, usable metrics, and reports to enable complex problem solving, process improvement, and also support corporate initiatives related to Data Governance, Analytics and Reporting.

+ Lead and develop super user capability for the Oracle ERP, Hyperion, and other systems.

Working Capital Reduction

+ Provide leadership, direction, and processes to global operating unit leaders to drive significant WC improvements.

+ Monitor Working Capital improvement results and, where appropriate, ensure that effective countermeasures are developed and implemented.

Financial Reporting

+ Accurate and timely consolidation and analysis of NAM operating unit actual results and variance to forecast/budget.

+ Minimize surprises through effective prevention and early communication.

Acquisitions

+ Assist in the financial evaluation of potential acquisition targets.

+ Lead financial due diligence for target acquisitions.

+ Assist the integration process for “back office” functions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate is a talented professional who can foster innovation and deliver results.

+ Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA/MBA preferred.

+ 5 to 10 years of increasing responsibility in various accounting and finance roles, preferably in a Software industry

+ Demonstrated ability to effectively manage financial activities in a global and matrix organization.

+ Ability to effectively partner and influence senior level cross-functional teams.

+ Experience in implementation of financial accounting systems is a plus.

+ Strong analytical/problem solving skills, strategic thinking and a command of the details.

+ Guide, motivate, and develop direct and indirect teams.

+ Ability to deal with conflict and manage expectations.

+ Experience with Oracle, HFM, OneStream, Power BI and similar software a plus
