GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY

The Accounts Receivable Manager will be responsible for effective management, analysis, and problem resolution of all the account receivables, credit and collections activities of the company's global operations. The role is accountable for providing excellent customer service to internal and external parties. The role also protects the company's value by keeping information confidential. The Accounts Receivable Manager collaborates with both Finance and other Department Managers to support overall department and Company goals and objectives. This role contributes to reporting, forecasting, and analytics related to the AR function.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Manage a team of AR Specialists and provide guidance for both day-to-day activities and longerterm strategic initiatives within AR

• Digitize the AR function by implementing electronic forms of payment while ensuring that payment methods and processes are current, with emphasis on efficiency and avoidance of risk

• Participate in the ERP implementation project with specific accountabilities for the AR processes and may also collaborate with other modules or other IT projects

• Ensure that customer records are maintained in an orderly and accurate manner

• Maintain the company's accounts receivable register in good order

• Prepare and contribute to various internal reporting, such as defined revenue reporting and Cashflow forecasts including the analysis of variances

• Ensure credit releases for pending sales orders are timely and accurately executed within the defined control parameters

• Monitor and maintain an ongoing and proactive credit risk review process for new and existing customers through a collaborative effort with AR, Sales and Finance

• Provide proactive remediation plans for delinquent accounts and updates on collection statuses highlighting potential risks to Global AR Lead, Sales and Finance team members.

• Prepare and analyze overdue collection reports on a weekly basis

• Collaborate with various internal and external sources of credit information.

• Maintain and track records of collection activities, credit change terms, customer requests and other related AR activities and issues
• Other tasks and priorities as assigned by DCL's leadership team

QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

• 5+ years of experience in credit and collections including account reconciliations, letters of credit, documentary collections and export documentation
• Managerial experience is preferred
• Professional accounting designation is an asset
• Intermediate to Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven interpersonal skills, customer service skills, tact, and diplomacy
• Strong leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills, self-starter
• High quality organizational, time management and prioritization skills
• Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information
