JOB SUMMARYHigh-level description of the purpose of the job

The Manager, Finance & Business Operations will provide oversight for operational and financial performance for Laboratory Operations, Supply Chain, Specialized Diagnostics, Clinical Development and Quality Assurance across multiple locations. This role will partner with business management teams to support key goals and initiatives. Success in this role will require strong technical accounting, FP&A and process improvements skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIESList of critical duties that the incumbent is expected to perform

Accountable to Director, Finance & Business Operations, for achieving operational excellence andorganizational goals
Gather, consolidate and report financial and operational data i.e. monthly/quarterly management reporting and variance analysis including interpreting budget/forecast and performance measure variances
Lead the budget/forecast process across multiple locations
Support the development, on-going evaluation and reporting of business metrics (KPI’s)
Provide appropriate support to business to ensure control of direct costs, including detailed analysis of monthly costs, assistance in identifying and achieving any cost saving initiatives; developmentof business cases
Must have ability to address ambiguity, flexibility to address ad hoc needs as they arise, passion for simplification and drive continuous improvement
Open to challenges in a changing business environment
Ad hoc analysis and tasks as needed

KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Knowledge, educational requirements and relative experience required to perform the job

Strong business acumen with strong analytical and problem solving skills
Bachelor’s degree in finance; MBA is a plus
CPA designation orworking towards CPAis a strong asset
Demonstrated strong operational financial experience preferably in a multisite setting
5+ year’s work experience in financial planning & analysis with a minimum of 3 years in management role

SKILLS AND ABILITIESTechnical and social process skills required to perform the job

Technical Skills

Advanced competency level with Microsoft products including: Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook, Great Plains a preference or comparable financial software and reporting tools
Experience with businessintelligenceand data analyticsplatforms (i.e. Microsoft PowerBI, Metabase, etc.) is a plus
Sound understanding of business planning processes, business case development and capital planning, and ability to assess and implement risk mitigation strategies
Experience in Standard Costing
Knowledgeable in six sigma methodology and tools
Experience preferred in development of Annual Operating Plan and Strategic Plans

Social Process Skills

Superior oral and written communication skills with keen attention to detail, and ability to effectively manage constraints and competing priorities
Demonstrated success at building relationships and collaborating with a network of internal and external colleagues and subject matter experts
Team player that has the ability to work under pressure and apply independently time management and prioritization of task
