As a Portfolio Manager, you demonstrate a deep personal commitment and passion for investing and you are energized by developing deep and engaging relationships with clients and their stakeholders.

PRIMARY DUTIES

Portfolio Management & Reporting

Be the portfolio manager for 5 to 10 institutional, mission-aligned, impact clients
Lead the strategic portfolio modeling of client portfolios, including developing and maintaining client portfolio models, building out portfolio cash flows and return expectations
Review client custodian accounts and internal financial records. This includes assessing cash flow, tracking performance, and reviewing asset mix and thematic alignment.
Read quarterly investment reports from portfolio holdings, attending quarterly calls and AGMs
Oversee portfolio administration including reviewing cash needs and signing off on subscription agreements and other purchase documentation
Lead annual meetings with clients to review KYC and IPS; ensuring portfolios are in compliance
Work with the research, portfolio administration, and reporting teams to create quarterly and annual reports for clients, which update clients on impact and financial performance

Client Relationship Management

Build meaningful relationships with clients, supporting their curiosity and appetite to learn about impact investing, and become more impactful
Lead new client onboarding, coordinating with Portfolio Administrator and new clients to prepare client KYC forms and other new account forms, including running KYC review calls with client’s Authorized Signatories. Review and finalize IPS & IMA documentation, as drafted by Portfolio Administrator, and present to the client
Arrange and prepare materials for quarterly meetings with clients. This includes planning the meeting agenda, scheduling, preparing any materials (quarterly report, pipeline, presenting investment recommendations), attending the meeting and any follow up

QUALIFICATIONS

On your resume, we ask that you demonstrate the following:

10+ years of relevant work experience, including a minimum of 5 years of experience with private equity, private debt, and private real assets funds
Must have a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation, active and in good standing
Must meet all criteria to be registered as a Portfolio Manager (Advising Representative) with the relevant provincial Securities Commission.
Experience working in a client-facing role with a range of investors such as foundations, family offices, high-net-worth individuals, corporates, and financial institutions
Full private fund cycle experience, including investment due diligence, operational due diligence, strategy setting, sector evaluation and investment thesis development, sourcing, structuring, legal documentation, closing, portfolio management, and exits
Leadership experience, proven success leading and mentoring high-performing investment teams.
Prior experience in impact or ESG investing
Experience working with modern, cloud-based digital systems, SaaS, and fully digitized processes
