Position Summary

We are looking for someone who lives by our corporate values of Heart, Integrity and Drive. The Accounting Manager is responsible for accurate and timely reporting of financial performance to the restaurant operations teams, to management and to external parties, ensuring financial statements are prepared in accordance with ASPE (Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises). As well, the Accounting Manager is responsible for leading a team of direct and indirect reports by coaching and developing people, while also improving efficiencies in accounting processes and managing the workflow of the group. This role has growth potential into higher leadership roles on the Finance team.

Responsibilities:

Job Responsibilities

Team development, spending time one-on-one and group coaching sessions.
Oversee and coordinate the timing of period, quarter and year-end reporting for multiple companies.
Preparation and thorough review of financial reports for the restaurants, including Balance Sheet schedules, Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and other financial reports, to ensure accounting controls and processes are followed.
Responsible for managing Sage 300 and Blackline, including new store, employee and GL account setup, completing the year end closing process and creating new fiscal calendars.
Prepare audit working papers for year-end and coordinate with auditors during the full audit process.
Monitor and improve efficiencies and effectiveness of accounting processes.
Involvement in planning and onboarding for newly acquired markets.
Other duties and projects as assigned by the Director of Finance.

Qualifications:

Requirements

Post-secondary education in accounting.
Minimum 3 years experience in an intermediate or senior finance position.
Solid knowledge of accounting principles.
Able to lead and coach direct reports, with prior managerial experience preferred.
Excellent communication skills.
Great at problem solving, with an ability to think outside the box.
Strong knowledge and capabilities in spreadsheets.
CPA designation is considered an asset.
