As one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, Fresh Direct Produce is looking for a detail-oriented and focused Accounting Manager to join our growing Calgary team!

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for various accounting duties, including financial statement preparation, costing, budgeting, planning and analysis and reporting for our Calgary location.

As one of our leaders, the incumbent will collaborate with others to ensure growth objectives are achieved with sound operational and financial plans. This includes working closely with other teams to formulate strategies and tactics to reduce manufacturing and distribution costs while maintaining quality standards.

Primary responsibilities include:

Develop and execute finance strategies and procedures while maintaining involvement with the day-to-day activities Operations Teams
Manage and supervise the Finance and Inventory team
Develop budgets, forecasts, proformas, and performance measures for both the manufactured processed products, as well as the distribution side of the business within the Calgary location.
Provide accurate and current management accounting information to Calgary’s Branch Manager within four business days of period end.
Provide external reporting to the FDP Group’s CFO within five business days of period end.
Work closely with the financial leadership of the FDP Group (CFO, Financial Controller, and Management Controller) with respect to cash flow and other FDP Group reporting matters.
Prepare business cases with recommendations, ROI, and payback on Capex items such as warehouse expansion, equipment purchases, etc.

Qualifications Include:

Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Business Administration, major in Accounting or Finance
CPA designation is an asset
4-5 years of related experience with at least two accounting cycles within a manufacturing environment preferred
Supervising experience of direct reports required
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, working with teams at all levels of the organization
Computer proficiency with advanced experience with Microsoft Excel and Office
