Our collaborative and inclusive Finance team is searching for a Manager, Financial Reporting and Analysis in Edmonton, AB to help improve GeoVerra’s internal financial reporting. The successful team member will provide in-depth financial analysis to ensure operating profit is a true representation of operating activities and to improve overall operational efficiency. As part of the finance management team, they will collaborate with the Finance Director and Controller, and work closely with executive management and operational leaders.

What you will do:

Understand our financial ERP system and bridge the gap between project and financial reporting
Collaborate with the executive management team on accounting and financial reporting matters and provide in-depth financial analysis to help with decision-making and business growth
Continuously evaluate the preparation of monthly and ad hoc financial and operational reports, ERP workflows, and internal processes, and collaborate with IT and operational leaders to implement changes to provide more consistent financial results and operational efficiencies
Lead and mentor the billing and project accounting team to ensure deliverables align with the company’s overall strategic plans and deadlines are met
Review monthly Project Earnings reports for all operational groups to ensure accuracy
Oversee the preparation of monthly and quarterly KPI reports for executive management
Assist with annual budgeting process
Ensure compliance with revenue policies and escalate non-compliance for resolution
Act as liaison between the finance team and operational teams to ensure the financial statements are a true representation of operating activities
Provide ad hoc financial analysis for the executive team and provide internal and external audit support as requested

What you will bring:

Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or equivalent
5-10 years industry accounting experience
Strong knowledge of enterprise financial accounting systems
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Excel
Experience leading a remote team of 6-12 is highly valued
Integrity, accuracy, and consistency in financial transactions and reporting
Prior experience with Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint (or comparable project-based ERP for professional services firm) considered an asset
Collaborative attitude, ability to excel in a team and independent environment
Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and time management skills
A keen interest in strengthening the partnership with operations
Superior attention to detail to produce professional deliverables
A strong degree of curiosity with a proactive approach
