Your New Role

The Manager, Finance & Project Accounting is a highly collaborative role interacting with teams in Development, Construction, Finance, Accounting, Sales and Leasing. Reporting to the VP you will take a lead on project reporting, financial analysis, operational budgeting, auditing and other key information for the purpose of enhancing management reporting and decision making.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor proforma budget performance, analyzing variances, conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses to assess potential outcomes based on market conditions.
Collaborate across departments to analyze forecasts, track project progress, and communicate updates to the sales and marketing teams, provide financial insights & recommendations for optimized capital allocation and alignment with company goals.
Prepares loan draw reports and coordinate monthly progress draws.
Update income and cash flow forecasts, ensuring alignment with annual goals.
Prepare financial statements and internal management reports for a portfolio of companies and projects.
Deliver compelling presentations to senior leadership with valuable insights and recommendations based on analyses.
Handle joint venture and limited partnership financial reporting responsibilities.
Compile year-end audit working papers, liaise with auditors, help prepare partnership and corporate tax returns.
Ensure adherence to company policies, accuracy of transactions and accounts across departments.
Proactively identify opportunities to enhance financial processes for increased efficiency and effectiveness.
Assist with other day-to-day accounting functions as needed.

What Sets You Apart

The ideal candidate will have the following experiences and characteristics:

Expert level analytical and financial modeling skills with at least 6+ years of real estate development related experience, ideally with master-planned communities.
A post-secondary degree in business, real estate, finance, or other relevant areas of study.
Strategic thinker with the ability to also be hands on with projects to ensure all work is executed effectively.
Experience in JV and LP reporting.
Excellent presentation skills.
Strong knowledge of real estate construction financing.
Past work experience at public practice is preferable.
CPA or CFA designation is considered advantageous.
