Hexagon’s Asset Lifecycle Intelligence division (Hexagon) is looking for an immediate opening for Manager, Accounting in our Calgary, Canada head office. This will be a hybrid role with one or two days each week in the office.

Reporting to the Controller, you will be leading a group of three (3) accounting professionals and have primary responsibility for the operational accounting including financial close, intercompany, account receivable, and account payable functions. Your strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills enable you to successfully lead the team to meet tight deadlines while your flexibility allows you to adapt to any challenges or changes that are presented. As a Manager of the Accounting team, you will be responsible for:

+ Leading the operational accounting functions for the Canada Asset Lifecycle Division

+ Providing the team with clear visions, goals, and priorities. Setting clear expectations of roles and responsibilities. Identifying and communicating best practices

+ Coaching, motivating and retaining staff and managing team performance

+ Assisting team members to solve problems from daily accounting to month-end close

+ Preparing monthly forecasts, and annual budgets and serving various reporting needs of internal customers

+ Providing sales commission data and supporting commission payouts

+ Reviewing and approving monthly general ledger reconciliations

+ Preparing annual corporate income tax returns and supporting internal and external audits

+ Taking initiatives in continuous process improvement

+ Leading ad hoc team projects

+ Professional Accounting Designation or Post-Secondary Business or Finance Degree

+ 6 years of finance and accounting experience in financial reporting, tax, audit and Financial Planning and Analysis

+ Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in a medium-sized organization ($25M-$75M)

+ Good understanding of financial systems, processes, internal controls, and a working knowledge of IFRS

+ Strong Excel skills

+ Be precise, detail oriented and committed to meeting deadlines

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills and work well in cross-functional teams

+ Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills

+ Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask and respond positively to changing priorities

+ Experience in Microsoft Dynamics or a similar ERP accounting system

+ Possess a professional and enthusiastic attitude
