Matrix HR is seeking a highly experienced Senior Accounts Payable Analyst to support the invoice processing and financial compliance activities for one of Canada's leading energy infrastructure organizations. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, advanced SAP proficiency, and the ability to manage high volumes of complex, high-value invoices in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.

Location: Calgary, AB (Hybrid — in office Monday, Tuesday, Thursday)
Duration: 12-month contract (no extension)
Work Structure: Hybrid; combination of in-office and remote work (no fully remote option)
Hours: 40 hours per week, standard business hours (overtime possible at quarter-end, year-end, and during onboarding)

Core Responsibilities:

Accurately process 150–160 PO and non-PO invoices per day (Canadian and U.S. entities) using SAP and VIM platforms.
Investigate and resolve invoice exceptions, including variances, withholding tax, and holdbacks, ensuring root-cause analysis is conducted with vendors and internal teams.
Serve as the first point of contact for vendors and internal stakeholders, providing timely status updates and upholding service-level agreements.
Maintain audit-ready documentation and apply SOX controls while protecting sensitive financial data.
Produce aging and KPI reports, and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize AP processes and reporting practices.

Qualifications & Experience:

5+ years of full-cycle Accounts Payable experience within large, multi-entity organizations (oil & gas industry preferred).
Advanced SAP proficiency, with strong expertise in Vendor Invoice Management (VIM) considered a significant asset.
Proven ability to process 150–160 invoices per day — references, metrics, or reporting to validate required.
Solid understanding of withholding tax, holdbacks, and GAAP for both Canadian and U.S. transactions.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a strong focus on customer service.
Ability to manage high-pressure situations, research and resolve financial discrepancies, and meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
Intermediate Excel skills (lookups, pivots) and experience working with dual-monitor setups.
Post-secondary education is welcomed; however, practical expertise, accountability, and results are paramount.

Virtual panel interview with AP Leads and Supply Chain Directors — behavioural and scenario-based questions.
