We’re looking for a Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis to join our team.

How can you make an impact?

The Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis will be responsible for methodical investigation Manage financial planning and analysis activities and, oversee all aspect of annual budget, monthly forecasts and financial reporting activities for McGraw-Hill Education Canada. Help business unit prepare SIP plan, and create reports to track the performance for sales, marketing, and product management team. Provide counsel to senior management team on strategic analysis to help business unit achieve both revenue and EBITDA growth.

What you will be doing

Assist Director of Finance to manage financial planning and analysis activities and, oversee all aspects of annual budget, monthly forecasts and reporting activities. Analyze and monitor key financial performance indicators i.e., revenue, COGS, margin, royalty, plant investment and operating expenses to assure financial health of the business. Involve month quarter, and year end closing process to assure the financial accuracy. Approve special pricing and establish internal control on pricing to avoid revenue leakage. Assist sales team to develop Sales Incentive Plan, create accurate reports and performance measurement tools to track the actual performance for sales, marketing and product management team.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare financial and strategic analysis for all transformation opportunities, assists functional leads setting priorities and ensuring execution of any such initiatives.
Act as a finance subject matter expert to support transformation initiatives in a timely and effective manner.
Work with Regional finance/commercial leads and Operations and external partners to drive standardization and continuous improvement of Finance business processes, data and reporting quality and the internal control environment.
Daily Sales tracking, DOE & Budget upload and performance tracking, Month end performance review.
Prepare digital post billing invoices and validate price, quantity and product information to assure the accuracy of the information provided by institutions or channel partners.
Prepare at hoc analysis for commercial leads (i.e. Amazon annual contract negotiation, intercompany special pricing requests etc.).
Approve pin code and other internal or external customer requests as specified on the task lists.
Assist month end JEs on sales, deferred revenue, and expenses.
Supervise reprint process. Participant reprinting meeting and approve reprint quantities.
Review and approve publishing proposals.

We’re looking for someone with:

Bachelor's degree in statistics, economics, finance, mathematics or related field. Advanced degree in business or finance is strongly preferred (Master in Accounting/Finance and/or MBA).
Excellent communication skills and relationship manager, being front facing with Sr. Leadership and Commercial teams.
Tenured in-depth knowledge and understanding of financial and business planning and analysis, budgeting and forecasting processes.
Knowledge of accounting and the associated markets and regulations within Canada; CPA, CMA, Controller as big plus.
Financial system/application experience
Microsoft Office super user (Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
Exemplary time-management skills in project timeline control, yet flexible and willing to adapt to changing deadlines if necessary.
Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks with strong attention to detail and problem-solving techniques.

Work Model:

Hybrid; home office and our Toronto, Ontario office (In office minimum of 2 days a week and as needed based on business needs)
