The Role:

As a Collections Coordinator, you will provide support to the Accounts Receivable team of the Accounting Department, in Toronto, Canada. This is a full time contract position reporting to the Team Lead under the Manager, Accounts Receivable. You will be responsible for timely collections, reconciliations and follow up with Customers, Sales, and Client Services department in a professional and courteous manner.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform reconciliations and reviews of client accounts
Liaises with the Sales and Client Services teams in Toronto (Head office) and with our National Branches
Ensure all details of collections attempts and actions are well documented
Keep records and reports up to date for all account activity
Manage our AR with offsets and adjustments
Escalate to the Team Lead and Manager, Accounts Receivable
Work with the Cash Applications team with reconciling payments, may be required to post teammate’s accounts in the event of high volume payments
Work with the Collectors to rotate and cycle difficult accounts once cleaned up back into regular collections
Build and strengthen working relationship with support team initiatives

Qualifications:

3-5 years’ experience in accounts receivable B2B collections with a high-volume environment or industry experience
Strong computer skills, intermediary to advance Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Working experience in organizing large spreadsheets daily, sorting formatting, V-lookup formulas and data import
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Problem solving abilities to investigate and identify discrepancies, whilst coordinating the internal teams for resolution
Experience or knowledge of vendor management systems (external vendor portals to obtain payment and or other information)
Strong team player
