The Finance Manager is responsible/leads tax, treasury and pension duties and manages credit and collections and compliance related matters.

Duties and responsibilities

Assures compliance with federal, provincial, and local tax laws and regulations
Represents company/lead on tax audits conducted by outside regulatory agencies and work closely with outside legal counsel
Is the resource person for the organization pertaining to taxation and its interpretation
Completes, Reviews, supervises Corporate Tax Return preparation and Tax accounting;
Conducts research and planning according to current tax laws, and advises senior management on the tax impact of current and proposed company activities and transactions
Facilitates transfer pricing report preparation, planning and audits
Oversees reporting and payment of all local, provincial and federal taxes
Supervises and Manages Cashflow planning to ensure effective use of cash resources
Prepares and/or Reviews cashflow statement (direct and indirect) and interprets financial results. Recommends corrective action if necessary.
SME on banking matters and manages banking relationship
Prepares Pension Financial statements and ensures smooth administration of the plan
Acts as liaison with actuary, custodian, auditors and regulators of pension plan for financial related matters
Acts as Canada’s Coordinator and subject matter expert for Sarbanes Oxley internal controls
Supervises and/or perform month end close, forecasting, budgeting and account analysis for areas of responsibility.
Oversees credit and collection operation (adheres to policy and procedures, perform credit decisions, supports C&C staff
Manages external financial audits
Ad hoc analysis and reporting

Qualifications

University degree in Commerce specializing in accounting
Graduate degree in Taxation, preferred
CPA designation
Experience of 10 years in Corporate Tax, Accounting, Compliance and Treasury
Experience in Audit, preferred
Experience in a global matrix organization
Proficiency in French and English (oral, written)
Proficiency in MS Office, ERP and systems
Competencies: leadership, analytical, complex problem solving skills, nimble
