About Us: Bear’s Claw Lodge is a well-established motel located in the heart of Cache Creek, BC. Our affiliated restaurant is a popular dining spot for both motel guests and local residents, serving a variety of delicious meals. We are a friendly and busy team, and we're looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Helper to support our culinary operations.

Job Description: As a Kitchen Helper, you will play a crucial supporting role in our kitchen, assisting the chefs and cooks with various tasks to ensure a smooth and efficient food preparation process. This role falls under NOC 65201 (Food counter attendants, kitchen helpers and related support occupations). You'll be an essential part of our team, helping us maintain a clean and organized kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

Wash, peel, chop, cut, and prepare vegetables and fruits.
Clean and sanitize kitchen work surfaces, cupboards, and appliances.
Sweep and mop kitchen floors.
Wash dishes, pots, pans, and cooking utensils by hand or using dishwashing machines.
Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, and dry storage areas.
Remove kitchen garbage and trash.
Load and unload food and supplies.
Assist cooks and chefs with basic food preparation tasks as directed.
Portion and wrap foods.
Perform other duties as assigned by kitchen staff or management.

Qualifications & Requirements:

No formal education is usually required.
Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is an asset but not strictly required; on-the-job training will be provided.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong work ethic and ability to take direction.
Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and perform repetitive tasks.
Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Reliability and punctuality are essential.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
