Job Description:
As a Butcher Helper, you will work closely with our butchers to ensure the efficient preparation and handling of meat products. Your responsibilities will include:
· Assisting butchers in cutting, trimming, and preparing meat products.
· Grinding meat and preparing sausages or other specialty meat items.
· Wrapping, weighing, and labeling meat products for display or storage.
· Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the work area, including equipment and tools.
· Ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
· Assisting with inventory management and restocking supplies.
· Operating and maintaining meat processing equipment safely.
Requirements:
· No formal education required; training will be provided on the job.
· Previous experience in a butchery or meat processing environment is an asset but not mandatory.
· Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs).
· Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
· Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
· Knowledge of food safety practices is an asset.
· Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
