Ace Canada Transport Ltd. is currently seeking a full-time Long Haul Truck Driver for work based out of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The successful candidate will operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials on long-haul routes, including cross-border travel.
Duties and responsibilities include driving as part of a two-person team or convoy, loading and unloading goods, obtaining special permits and other documents required for international routes, conducting pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, overseeing the condition of the vehicle and equipment, securing cargo, recording cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption, and communicating with central dispatch. Drivers may also be required to transport dangerous goods and perform emergency roadside repairs when necessary.
The position involves frequent travel and extended periods on the road. Candidates must hold a valid Class 1/A Driver's License with Air Brake (Z) Endorsement. Experience operating flatbed and straight trucks, using GPS and navigation systems, and completing transportation documentation, including inspection, maintenance, and dangerous goods reports, is required. Candidates must also be able to handle loads up to 45 kg (100 lbs) and provide their own hard hat and steel-toed safety boots.
