Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Fireplace Technician, Installer and Finisher to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, finishing, and ensuring the proper operation of fireplaces, hearths, furnaces, garage heaters and related heating and cooling appliances. Your expertise will contribute to creating warm, inviting spaces for our clients while maintaining high standards of safety and craftsmanship. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from residential to commercial installations, utilizing a broad skill set in construction and finishing trades.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately install a variety of heating and cooling appliances.
- Prepare work sites by measuring, cutting, and assembling materials using hand tools and power tools.
- Install appliances, ensuring proper placement, leveling, and secure attachment according to specifications.
- Finish fireplace surrounds with caulking, masonry, or cabinetry as needed to achieve a polished appearance.
- Perform concrete forming and finishing for hearths or bases when required.
- Conduct electrical wiring, plumbing connections, or ventilation setup in compliance with codes and safety standards.
- Complete restoration work or repairs on existing fireplaces as necessary.
- Collaborate with team members on construction estimating, project timelines, and quality control measures.
- Maintain a clean work environment and adhere to safety protocols throughout all phases of installation and finishing.
Skills
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and construction drawings.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools (hammers, chisels) and power tools (drills, saws).
- Experience in construction trades such as carpentry, masonry, concrete finishing, plumbing, and electrical work.
- Knowledge of caulking techniques for sealing joints and finishes effectively.
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes for project planning.
- Strong understanding of construction painting, tile laying, flooring installation, cabinet installation, and restoration techniques.
- Experience with concrete forming or finishing is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail to ensure quality craftsmanship on every project.
